Met Gala is the fashion’s biggest night out. Unlike other important days in the calendar, the year in fashion begins every February and ends in September and that includes Met Gala. It is celebrated on the First Monday of May, it is the closest thing to Oscar’s night.
Met Gala is the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute Gala. Each year’s event is celebrated according to the theme of the Costume Institute’s Exhibition. This theme sets the tone for the formal dress of the night, guests are expected to match the theme and flaunt exquisitely.
Each year there is a different theme for the Met Gala event, opening-night party. It is considered as the biggest fashion event in the world. It was established in 1948 to raise money for the newly founded costume institute. The cost of the first event was around fifty-five dollars. It is regarded as a prominent and stunning social event in the world.
Since 1973 it is known as a blockbuster event and named as ‘the jewel in the New York city’s social crown.

Best Outrageous Looks of Met Gala
Over the top fashion was par for the event Met Gala, from red carpet Lady Gaga and Billy Porter, it was also a vehicle for performance art.
Gaga vamped on the red carpet not once, but four times in different looks by Brandon Maxwell, which she alternately shed and donned full of Champagne, dancers, umbrellas and a flirty striptease.
Billy porter confirmed his red carpet with an exquisite look, stunning vamped walk. The outfit consisted of an embellished catsuit, eight feet wings, and a 24 karat gold headpiece crown which was absolute touch to his outfit. His royal status was heightened perfectly in black velvet and gold litter by shirtless bearers. All the stars shine perfectly in this event, Batt Midler, Katy Perry, and Joan Collins they looked stunning in the Met Gala. This event looks every year campier than Joan Water movie, this camp icon is legendary, Joan showed up as herself to the gala, much to the delight of Dynasty fans. In 2019 the ladies and gents rocked the carpet by showcasing their surreal outfits to the crowd. Some strange apparels from Perry’s Chandelier dress, Tiffany Haddish carried flawless dresses on the stage, which the crowd loved.

Met Gala is usually known for lack of food, and the moments leading up to walk down on the red carpet are limited to little bites. Celebrities in hotel room robes picking fruit off a room service tray or sipping water on the way to the venue.
The menu included toast with lemon, appetizers, watermelon radishes, tomato stuffed with green goddess Panna cotta, filet of beef with beet horseradish crema, braised rainbow carrots and mascarpone potato puree. In dessert whimsey was reserved, guests were served with chocolate hazelnut cake at the table as shown on Lili Reinhart’s. Flamingo cookies and espresso were served in the evening. A camp-themed gala conjures beautiful images of towering cakes overflowing with frosting, rows of glossy hamburgers, mouth-watering dishes are served throughout the day to make them feel distinctive.
